Dr. Narayan Chandra Ghosh

Dr. Narayan Chandra Ghosh is currently serving as the Librarian of the B. C. Roy Memorial Library, Indian Institute of Management Calcutta. He has been associated with IIM Calcutta in this capacity since 2019 and is responsible for the overall administration, development, and modernization of library and information services.
Dr. Ghosh holds a Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Library and Information Science from the University of Calcutta. He also possesses a Master of Library and Information Science (MLISc) degree and a Post Graduate Diploma in Library Automation and Networking (PGDLAN), reflecting a strong academic foundation combined with professional and technical expertise.
His professional interests include academic library management, digital libraries, institutional repositories, open access initiatives, and the application of information technology in library services. He has actively contributed to scholarly literature and professional discourse through research publications, conference papers, and invited talks.
Dr. Ghosh is a Fellow of the Society for Information Science (FSIS) and is associated with several professional bodies such as IASLIC, MANLIBNET, CGLA, and SIS. He has also played an active role in national-level library conferences and consortium meetings, contributing to policy discussions and best practices in academic librarianship.
Under his leadership, the B. C. Roy Memorial Library has strengthened its digital initiatives, institutional repository services, and user-oriented academic support systems, aligning library services with the teaching, learning, and research objectives of IIM Calcutta.
